Biography
Dr. Michael D. Maloney is a UR Medicine orthopaedic surgeon and Dean’s Professor of Orthopaedics who serves as chief of sports medicine at the University of Rochester. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine and has been on the Rochester faculty since the late 1990s. Distinguishing parts of his background include serving as medical director of the URMC Ambulatory Surgery Center and founding CHAMPP, a multidisciplinary performance and injury-prevention program for athletes. His academic work also includes involvement with the university’s Center for Musculoskeletal Research, where he has contributed to research on injury repair, biologics, osteoarthritis, and patient-reported outcomes.
