Biography
Dr. Leway Chen is a cardiologist at UR Medicine and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester who founded and directs the medical center’s Program in Heart Failure and Transplantation. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. According to the University of Rochester, he completed cardiology fellowship training and an M.P.H. at the University of Washington after internal medicine training at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, and he has helped build Rochester’s heart failure and transplant program since joining URMC in 1999, including leadership roles in regional and state cardiology organizations described by the medical center.
