Biography
Karl Q. Schwarz, MD is a cardiologist and University of Rochester physician-scientist whose work centers on advanced cardiac imaging. He is a Professor of Medicine at URMC, has directed the Echocardiography Laboratory since 1992, and also holds a joint faculty appointment in anesthesiology. Dr. Schwarz earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester and completed his internal medicine training and cardiology fellowship there; he is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. His academic work has also included cardiovascular engineering research, particularly in echocardiography and quantitative imaging methods.
