Biography
Mark B. Taubman, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and physician-scientist whose career has been closely tied to academic medicine and cardiovascular research in Rochester. At the University of Rochester, he served as chair of medicine, then dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, and later became the first person to hold the medical center’s combined dean and CEO role; before arriving in 2003, he had led cardiovascular research at Mount Sinai, and his training included medical school at NYU followed by residency and cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s. He also helped build Rochester’s Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute, a notable part of the institution’s growth in heart and vascular research.
