Biography
William J. Flynn, Jr., MD, is a board-certified surgeon in surgery and surgical critical care who serves as associate medical director at ECMC and as an associate professor and surgical critical care fellowship program director at the University at Buffalo. He earned his MD from Northwestern University, completed general surgery training at the University at Buffalo, and went on to fellowship training at the University of Louisville. A distinguishing part of his Buffalo career has been his long leadership in trauma and critical care at ECMC, including helping guide the hospital’s transition to American College of Surgeons Level I trauma center accreditation and serving as president of the medical-dental staff from 2019 to 2021.
