Biography
Thomas R. Cimato, MD, PhD, is a UBMD cardiologist and associate professor at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed cardiology and advanced heart failure/cardiac transplant training at Johns Hopkins, is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, and nuclear cardiology, and focuses clinically on heart failure, including care for patients with transplants and ventricular assist devices. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cimato is a physician-scientist whose research centers on atherosclerosis and cardiovascular stem cell biology, and he has led or contributed to multi-center clinical trials in heart failure and lipid-lowering therapy.
