Vijay S. Iyer, MD, PhD is an interventional cardiologist in the Buffalo area whose work centers on structural heart and complex valve care. He serves as chief of cardiovascular medicine and an associate professor at the University at Buffalo, and he directs the complex valve clinic and structural heart interventions at Buffalo General Medical Center and the Gates Vascular Institute. Dr. Iyer earned his MD from Grant Medical College and a PhD in pharmacology from Drexel University, with cardiology training at the University at Buffalo and the University of Minnesota.
