Matthew Burstein, MD, PhD, is an American Board of Surgery-certified general surgeon whose University Hospitals profile notes expertise in complex abdominal hernias, foregut and reflux surgery, and minimally invasive and robotic surgery. His training includes Baylor College of Medicine, a general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic, and an advanced GI/minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Buffalo General Medical Center. He also has a substantive research background, including co-authoring a study identifying novel subtypes and targets of triple-negative breast cancer.
