Biography
Lawrence Bone, MD, is a longtime Buffalo orthopaedic trauma surgeon with deep ties to the University at Buffalo and Erie County Medical Center. UB notes that he was appointed chair of the Department of Orthopaedics in 2001 and directed musculoskeletal trauma services at ECMC, where he became known for improving care for polytrauma patients; he has also been a prolific author on fracture and trauma-related subjects. In 2010, he served as a trauma surgeon aboard the USNS Comfort as part of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association’s response to the Haiti earthquake.
