Biography
Susan McDowell, MD, is an orthopaedic oncologist with UR Medicine and part of the Wilmot Cancer Institute bone and soft tissue cancer team. She is an associate professor at the University of Rochester, holds the Dr. C. McCollister Evarts Professorship in Orthopaedics, and serves as program director of the orthopaedic residency. McDowell earned her medical degree at Indiana University and completed fellowship training in musculoskeletal oncology at Mayo Clinic; she is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. Her practice includes limb-sparing surgery, and her profile also notes annual humanitarian work training health workers from Myanmar at the Barefoot Doctors School in Thailand.
