Biography
Matthew L. Ruggieri, MD, is an attending psychiatrist at ECMC in Buffalo and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed his psychiatry residency at Maine Medical Center and earned his MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University; he is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His clinical and teaching work has centered on acute and inpatient psychiatry, with particular interests in neuropsychiatric manifestations of brain disease and electroconvulsive therapy, and UB has recognized him with multiple teaching honors, including Teacher of the Year in 2023.
