Biography
Vinayak S. Gokhale, MD is an attending psychiatrist at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo and a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the University at Buffalo, where he has served on the faculty since 2000. He earned his medical degree from B.J. Medical College, completed psychiatry residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital, and later pursued a psychopharmacology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Gokhale’s background includes work in ECMC’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, prior service at Buffalo Psychiatric Center, leadership as a past president of the Western NY Psychiatric Society, and peer-reviewed research spanning neurochemistry and alcohol-related brain injury.
