Biography
Dr. Asim Farid is a Rochester colorectal surgeon affiliated with Rochester Regional Health and UR Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Dow Medical College in Karachi, completed surgical training in England including a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, then came to the U.S. for general surgery residency training at Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Clinic and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Henry Ford Health System. Before settling in Rochester in 2001, he served as Chief of Surgery at Owen County Memorial Hospital in Kentucky; he is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery, and was among the first surgeons in the Rochester area to perform stapled hemorrhoidopexy.
