Biography
Dr. Alia N. Syed is a Buffalo psychiatrist at ECMC who completed her general psychiatry residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2022 after earning her D.O. from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She stayed in Buffalo to join the University at Buffalo faculty as a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry. Her academic work has included a resident research project on nutrition and depression that received UB Psychiatry’s 2020 Harold Levy Award for Best Original Paper, and she later coauthored a 2022 publication on emerging misuse of 2-methyl-2-butanol.
