Susan Elizabeth Nelson, MD

Dr. Susan E. Nelson is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with UR Medicine and an associate professor in the University of Rochester’s Department of Orthopaedics. She earned her medical degree at Queen’s University, completed orthopaedic surgery training at the University of Saskatchewan, and went on to pediatric orthopaedic fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. A URMC profile notes that she also holds an MPH from Harvard and spent additional time at Oxford University Hospitals, where her fellowship work focused on cerebral palsy care. Her published and clinical work has included pediatric spinal deformity, hip, and trauma topics, with a particular focus on scoliosis and other pediatric spine disorders.
