Biography
Dr. Melissa Desa is a board-certified psychiatrist who earned her MD from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. During residency she served as Chief Resident of Acute Services, then stayed on at Rochester to work in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program and a community mental health clinic for severely mentally ill patients. Her background also includes supervising medical students and psychiatry residents and work in long-term residential and forensic psychiatric settings.
