Biography
John Karpie, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Williamsville native who earned his medical degree at the University at Buffalo and completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at UPMC, where he also served as an attending orthopedic trauma surgeon. According to his Trinity Medical profile, he later worked as a clinical instructor and general orthopedist in the Pittsburgh VA system and completed a sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Earlier in his career, he also contributed to peer-reviewed orthopedic research, including PubMed-indexed studies on cartilage injury and the effects of local anesthetics on joint tissue.
