Nancy N Cain, M.D.

Nancy Cain, MD, is a psychiatrist at UR Medicine and a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She earned her MD from Ohio State and completed a pediatrics internship, psychiatry residency, and community psychiatry fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, then went on to build a career that has included medical education, clinical work, and scholarship in the care of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her work in that area was recognized with the American Psychiatric Association’s Frank J. Menolascino Award, and she has also coauthored publications on psychiatric assessment and bipolar disorder in adults with intellectual disability.
