She trained at the University at Buffalo, where she earned degrees in biomedical sciences and Spanish and was recognized as a Pisacano Scholar, a national award for medical students committed to family medicine.

According to Jericho Road, she completed family medicine residency training in Lawrence, Massachusetts, returned to the organization as a physician in 2015, later became chief medical officer, and was named its next chief executive officer in 2025.
