Thomas Alan Russo, M.D., C.M.

Thomas A. Russo, MD, CM, is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and chief of infectious diseases at the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where he also cares for hospitalized patients at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. A McGill-trained physician, he completed infectious disease fellowship training through Harvard Medical School and Tufts-New England Medical Center, later serving as a senior staff fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; his research focuses on drug-resistant Gram-negative infections, including hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii.
