Timothy F Murphy, MD

Timothy F. Murphy, MD, is a University at Buffalo physician-scientist and SUNY Distinguished Professor whose work focuses on respiratory bacterial infections, especially in COPD. He serves as UB’s senior associate dean for clinical and translational research and directs the Clinical and Translational Science Institute; his background includes an MD from Tufts, infectious disease fellowship training at Tufts, and long-running COPD research at the Buffalo VA, including landmark work on bacterial strain changes in COPD flare-ups.
