Biography
Dr. Steven Nurkin is a surgical oncologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he serves as chief of colorectal surgery and associate professor of oncology. He earned his medical degree from Technion in Haifa, completed general surgery residency training at New York Hospital Queens/NewYork-Presbyterian, and then trained in surgical oncology at Roswell Park. His work has centered on colorectal and other gastrointestinal cancers, with particular focus on minimally invasive and robotic surgery, quality improvement, and nonoperative “watch-and-wait” management for rectal cancer; Roswell Park also notes that he serves on the NCCN panel for colon, rectal and anal cancers.
