A Niagara University graduate who earned his medical degree from Dartmouth School of Medicine, he completed internship and ophthalmology residency training at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University, where he served as chief resident. His published work includes ophthalmology research on topics such as ocular surface squamous neoplasia and other eye conditions, including a Cornea decision analysis on treatment strategies for ocular surface squamous neoplasia.
