Paul Y Geha, MD

Paul Geha, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist and University of Rochester faculty physician whose work centers on the neuroscience of chronic pain. He earned his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, then completed psychiatry training at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. At Rochester, he serves as an associate professor and leads the Pain and Perceptions Lab, where he studies brain-based markers of pain and related behavior. His research has included a widely noted PNAS study identifying a brain signature associated with the risk of developing chronic pain.
