Biography
Dr. Yeates Conwell is a University of Rochester Medical Center professor of psychiatry whose work has centered on geriatric mental health and suicide prevention in later life. At Rochester, he has served as vice chair and director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program, founding co-director of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide, and a leader in the health system’s aging-focused programs, including the Aging Institute executive committee. He earned his MD from the University of Cincinnati and completed psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship training at Yale New Haven Hospital; he is board certified in psychiatry.
