Dr. William Small is an assistant professor of psychiatry at UR Medicine’s Strong Ties in Rochester. He earned his MD at the University of Rochester and completed both his internship and psychiatry residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His UR Medicine profile also notes honors including the Nanavati Award for contributions to patients with severe mental disorders and the John Romano Award for excellence in medical student teaching. Within the residency program, he supervises residents, serves as a preceptor, and participates in the Clinical Competence Committee. He has also co-authored research on COVID-19 vaccination attitudes among people with serious mental illness.
