Biography
Samuel C. Spalding III, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with Retina-Vitreous Surgeons of Central New York. He completed ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal disease and surgery fellowship training at Emory University after earning his medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. Spalding has served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Crouse Hospital and holds a SUNY Upstate faculty appointment, where he teaches ophthalmology residents and medical students; his background also includes participation in clinical research on retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
