Rae Ellen Kavey, MD

Rae-Ellen Kavey, MD, MPH, is a pediatric cardiologist and professor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Before joining Rochester, she came from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, where she directed the Pediatric Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program and helped lead evidence-based national guidance on cardiovascular health in children and adolescents, a focus that aligns with her longstanding work in preventive cardiology and pediatric heart disease research (URMC profile). Her training includes medical school at SUNY Downstate, pediatric residency at New York Hospital, and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Montreal Children’s Hospital.
