Biography
Andrew J. Wilhelm, D.O., D.P.T., M.S. is an orthopaedic surgeon with UR Medicine in Hornell and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester. He earned his D.O. from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed orthopaedic surgery training at WellSpan York Hospital, and then finished a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Allegheny General Hospital. A distinctive part of his background is that he also holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Ithaca College and worked as a physical therapist before medical school. He has also contributed to sports medicine research, including a study on early sport specialization in professional baseball players.
