Biography
Dr. Michael E. Merhige is a cardiologist in Tonawanda whose background has included academic and research leadership in cardiac imaging. The University at Buffalo identified him as a clinical associate professor of nuclear medicine and director of its Nuclear Cardiology Fellowship Program, and UB later described him as medical director of the Heart Center of Niagara. His published work has focused on cardiac PET imaging and coronary artery disease, including studies on how PET myocardial perfusion imaging may help guide management and predict outcomes in patients with known or suspected heart disease, including a multicenter registry study.
