She is board certified in infectious disease and internal medicine, completed infectious disease fellowship at University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Memorial Hospital after internal medicine residency at UPMC Montefiore, and earned her MD from the University at Buffalo. Her academic work includes coauthoring a national study on the epidemiology of ocular tuberculosis.
