Shamim M Islam, MD

Shamim M. Islam, MD, DTM&H, is a pediatric infectious disease specialist and clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He serves as medical director of the antimicrobial stewardship program at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, and his work focuses on pediatric infections, antimicrobial stewardship, tropical medicine, and global antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Islam earned his MD from Cornell, completed residency at UCSF, and trained in pediatric infectious disease at Children’s Hospital Oakland before joining UB in 2015.
