Biography
Charles W. Francis, MD, is a hematologist and Professor Emeritus in Medicine, Hematology/Oncology at the University of Rochester. He earned his MD at the University of Pittsburgh, trained in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina, and joined Rochester as a hematology fellow in 1976; his work has focused on hemostasis, thrombosis, fibrin biology, and anticoagulant research. He has directed Rochester’s Hemostasis and Thrombosis program and has served as editor-in-chief of Thrombosis Research.
