Biography
Dr. Daniel C. McFarland is a University of Rochester physician who serves as director of the Psycho-Oncology program at Wilmot Cancer Center and holds joint associate professor appointments in Psychiatry and Medicine. His background is notably cross-disciplinary: he completed a combined internal medicine-psychiatry residency at Rush University Medical Center, followed by hematology/oncology fellowship at Mount Sinai and consultation-liaison psychiatry training at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Before joining Wilmot in 2022, he served on the faculty at Northwell Health Cancer Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering; his research and academic work has focused on psycho-oncology, including cancer-related inflammation, depression, communication, and clinician well-being.
