Vincent M B Silenzio, MD

Vincent Silenzio, MD, MPH, is a physician and professor in Rutgers School of Public Health’s Department of Urban-Global Public Health. He earned both his MD and MPH from Rutgers, and his work has centered on LGBTQ mental health and wellbeing, with a particular emphasis on suicide prevention and the use of digital and big-data approaches in public health research.

Earlier in his career, Silenzio held faculty appointments at the University of Rochester in psychiatry, public health sciences, and family medicine, and he has also been involved in global health research and training focused on mental health and HIV/AIDS. His published work includes studies on suicide risk among sexual minority youth and the role of online social networks in reaching people who may be at risk.
