Rachel Marie Simpson, MD, PHD

Rachel Simpson, MD, PhD, is an infectious diseases physician-scientist at the University of Rochester, where she completed internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship training through URMC’s physician-scientist pathway. A University at Buffalo MD-PhD graduate, she studied microbiology and immunology, with doctoral work on RNA editing in Trypanosoma brucei, and her current research interests include computational approaches such as deep sequencing and proteomics to improve infectious disease diagnosis and prognosis.
