Stephen J Lurie, M.D.

Stephen J. Lurie, MD, PhD, is a family medicine physician at UR Medicine in Rochester, where he practices primary care. He is board certified in family medicine and brings both clinical and academic training to his work, with an MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and family medicine residency training at Duke University Medical Center.

At the University of Rochester, he has also held a faculty appointment in family medicine and was one of the physicians involved in opening Manhattan Square Family Medicine, a downtown Rochester practice created to expand access to primary care. Earlier in his career, a University of Rochester family medicine newsletter noted that he practiced family medicine in the region before taking on a medical education editing role at JAMA.
