Susan Vinocour, JD, PHD

Susan Vinocour, JD, PhD, is a clinical and forensic psychologist and former prosecutor whose work has focused on children, families, and the intersection of mental health and law. She was an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and directed what was described as the country’s first postdoctoral training program in child and adolescent forensic psychology. A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, she later authored Nobody’s Child, a nonfiction book on competency, the insanity defense, and the criminal legal system.
