David S Bell, M.D.

David S. Bell, MD, is a physician from Lyndonville, New York whose career has included both primary care and pediatric practice, along with a longstanding clinical and research interest in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). According to his Open Medicine Foundation profile, he trained at Harvard University and Boston University and later became especially known for caring for patients during the well-known Lyndonville ME/CFS cluster in the 1980s.

Bell’s published work has focused in part on how ME/CFS affects children and adolescents. He is cited as a co-author of a pediatric case definition for the illness and contributed to later peer-reviewed overviews on pediatric ME/CFS and a diagnosis and management primer for young people.
