Ann R. Shamaskin, M.D., is a Rochester internist and University of Rochester Medicine professor emeritus in the Department of Medicine. She earned her M.D. from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Rochester, and served as chief medical resident at Highland Hospital; earlier in her career, she was co-director of medical education at The Genesee Hospital and medical director of its emergency department.
