Thomas R. Elmer Jr., MD, is an Amherst ophthalmologist and partner at Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare, where he has practiced as a partner since 2006. He earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo, completed ophthalmology residency training at Louisiana State University, where he was elected chief resident, and later completed a pediatric ophthalmic fellowship at the University at Buffalo. His practice notes that he became president of the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Niagara in 2015, and the group’s pediatric eye-care program describes him as a board-certified surgeon and ophthalmologist.
