Holger Schunemann, MD

Holger Schünemann, MD, PhD, is a physician and clinical epidemiologist whose work has focused on evidence-based medicine, guideline development, and respiratory health research. He is CERC Director at Humanitas University and previously served as chair of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics at McMaster University; he also has longstanding ties to the University at Buffalo, where he completed graduate training in epidemiology and joined the faculty. Schünemann is widely associated with the GRADE Working Group, which develops methods for rating evidence and recommendations in health care guidelines.
