Biography
Michael E. Cain, MD is a professor of medicine and biomedical engineering at the University at Buffalo whose work focuses on cardiac electrophysiology and abnormal heart rhythms. At UB, he previously served for 15 years as dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and 10 years as vice president for health sciences, and before coming to Buffalo he led the Cardiovascular Division at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His career has combined clinical cardiology, research on arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, and major academic leadership at UB’s medical school.
