Ellen C Derby, CD(DONA) CLC

Ellen Derby is a Rochester-area birth doula and certified lactation counselor with experience dating back to 2000 in breastfeeding support and 2002 in doula work. Her background includes DONA certification and work with families in home and hospital birth settings, as well as postpartum support, private childbirth education, and a noted interest in supporting families during adoption-related transitions through Birth and Mother's Milk. She told In Good Health that her path into lactation counseling began after her own breastfeeding experience and early work with new mothers in a peer program, a perspective that has shaped her counseling across the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
