Biography
Lisa Vargish, MD, MS is a geriatrician in Rochester, New York and an Associate Professor in the University of Rochester’s Division of Geriatrics and Aging, where she also serves as program director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. Her clinical work has centered on the care of older adults across home, nursing home, rehabilitation, and hospice settings, with a sustained focus on palliative care and physician education.
On her UR Medicine profile, Dr. Vargish notes that she earned her MD from the University of Chicago, completed family medicine training at UCSF/San Francisco General, and went on to fellowship training in geriatrics at the University of Chicago. Before joining the Rochester faculty, she worked at the Jewish Home of Rochester developing and evaluating a home care program for seniors and previously held medical education leadership roles at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
