Lois Jean Van Tol, M.D.

Lois Van Tol, MD, is a Rochester family medicine physician whose background includes academic and community-based care with a particular interest in obstetrics and maternal-child health. A University of Rochester Department of Family Medicine newsletter reported that she earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, completed a family medicine residency at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, and later finished a maternal-child health fellowship at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

The same University of Rochester profile noted that she joined the department after practicing with Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in Wisconsin, and that her work had included volunteer service at a rural clinic in Haiti as well as organizing maternity care conferences for Amish midwives. In a later department update, Rochester reported that she had been involved in the Maternal Child Health Fellowship before moving to Lake Affect OB/GYN Midwifery and Family Medicine.
