Biography

David A. DiLoreto, Jr., M.D., Ph.D., is a retina specialist at UR Medicine’s Flaum Eye Institute, where he serves as Chair of Ophthalmology and Director of the Eye Institute. He earned both his medical degree and Ph.D. in neuroanatomy from the University of Rochester, completed ophthalmology residency at USC/Doheny Eye Institute, and trained in medical and surgical retina at Johns Hopkins’ Wilmer Eye Institute; his academic work includes clinical research in retinal disease and vision-restoration approaches, including stem-cell transplantation.
