Biography
Dr. Dean Salem is a board-certified internal medicine physician and hospitalist at Buffalo General Medical Center, where he also serves as an assistant professor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He earned his MD from UB in 2020, completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester, and graduated with distinction in point-of-care ultrasound, an area he has identified as a focus for bedside clinical decision-making. Earlier in his career, Salem worked as a medical technologist at Sisters of Charity Hospital, and he was part of a University of Rochester team recognized for a quality-improvement poster on improving Ramadan meal service for hospitalized patients.
