Michael David Nazar, MD

Michael Nazar, MD, is a Rochester family physician whose career has combined primary care, geriatrics, teaching, and physician leadership. According to the Monroe County Medical Society, he graduated from Amherst College and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed his family medicine residency through the University of Rochester/Highland Hospital program, and is board certified in family medicine and geriatric medicine. He also served as a clinical associate professor of family medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Over the course of his career, Nazar held senior leadership roles within Rochester Regional Health and its legacy organizations, including chair of family medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital and executive vice president, chief of medical groups at Rochester Regional Health. He has also been involved in regional health initiatives; a URMC News story identified him as a collaborator on the Rochester Aging Study, a project focused on Alzheimer’s risk and aging research.
