Biography
Andrew H. Talal, MD, MPH, is a Buffalo hepatologist with UBMD and the University at Buffalo, where he is a professor of medicine and founder/director of the Liver Center of Western New York. He trained in internal medicine and gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina, completed research training at Rockefeller University’s Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, and joined UB after serving on the Weill Cornell faculty. His work has centered on viral hepatitis and improving access to care, including UB-led telemedicine research for hepatitis C that earned a 2025 Top Ten Clinical Research Achievement Award.
